A post on the FP reminded me of this pic from Hasegawa’s Weapons Set: II, which included guided bombs, SUUs and laser designators.
Yes, that is an A-10 with two SUU-23 20mm gun pods, which were normally carried singly by F-4s. This was just to show off the weapons included in the kit, as I don’t think a Warthog could get airborne with a load like that, nor could it actually carry the GBU-8 or -15.
Still, BBBBBBRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRTTTTTTTTTT with a side of bbbbbbbbbbrrrrrrr rrrrrrrrtttttttttttttt.

All the BBRRTT.
Even without all the extra ordnance, the thought of all that lead (or depleted uranium) downrange is pretty terrifying.

Well, it could take 16000LBs underneath...
The SUU-23A weight in at 1730/ea
GBU-8 weight is 1050/ea
GBU-15 2000LBs
SUU30 is 820
GBU-10 is 2103
...which totals...15406 LBs. So yeah... it totally could.

Of course what they really needed were a bunch of GPU-5s/GAU-13s for maximum 30mm bbbbbbbbbrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrttttttttttttttttttttting :

Why does a flying gun need a gun?

Fair point, but the GBU-8 and -15 are TV/IIR guided, which the ‘ Hog was never set up to use.

Wouldn’t it be hilarious if the Chinese trolled us and announced a new ground control fighter that was an A10 C lone just as the US Air Force is trying eve ry way possible to ground the A10?......

We’d just laugh. The A-10 is tough, but it would doomed in the fight against a major power. If China built one of their own, we’d appreciate that they were wasting money on something so easy to counter. The closest non-American analog is the Su-25, and I really don’t think it keeps the Army up at night.

Yeah, the Hog is good only in low-threat environments . If you’re up against someone with a competent ADF, or worse, a real air force, the A-10s can’t survive long enough to bust tanks

Oh, it’s way worse than just lead. The SUU-23 is a version of the M61, and fires the same ammunition:

You both are well read and make good points. Chances are the Chinese don’t have any 3rd world opponents that don’t have 1st world backers so you are correct why bother except to troll....
Your comments
reminds me of something that
I recall which
went something like this; If you send an A10
against a 1st world enemy, it would be more humane to shoot the A10 pilots on the tarmac as it would be easier for all considered than sending them up in
c
ontested airspace and have to recover the body....
Until then, I think out ground pounders consider a A10 to be a really useful plane in the conflicts we are in.....
